A pair of sterling silver cufflinks featuring a lucky horseshoe made in Denmark by Georg Jensen. This pair of cufflinks has the design attribution by Arno Malinowski. Malinowski was a silver designer, a sculptor, ceramist, engraver and medalist. He trained at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts., School of Sculpture in Copenhagen from 1919 to 1922 and designed a series of statuettes depicting mythological characters from 1921 to 1935 for the Royal Danish Porcelain Manufactory. He worked with the Georg Jensen Company from 1936 to 1944 and from 1949 to 1965 creating designs for jewellery and hollowware. His jewellery often depicted designs of animals such as the kneeling deer and two dolphins seen in a variety of Jensen's jewellery. He also designed the "Kingmark" to celebrate the 70th birthday of King Christian X in 1940. The Kingmark was produced in great number and worn by Danes to show their loyalty to Denmark and their resistance to the German occupation. Malinowski also designed pieces of jewelry in iron rather than silver during the war years when the silver supply was limited. These cufflinks are perfect for any equestrian fan, or anyone who is lucky! The cufflinks are marked with the dotted oval 'Georg Jensen'  post 1945 mark, '123' which is the internal style reference number and '925 S' for sterling silver.  These cufflinks also have an added and rare feature of an English import assay mark for London from 1996.  They also come in an original Jensen box.
